Editor's note from J. Stewart Dixon: BLUE COLLAR SPIRITUALITY: Unmani
This is a series of articles/videos I will be presenting here at ATH that I will call BLUE COLLAR SPIRITUALITY: What enlightenment looks like in ORDINARY FOLKS. Many of my spiritually awakened friends and I are in this category.  We do not have the eloquence of Adyashanti, the mass appeal of Eckhart Tolle or the motherly sagacity of Gangaji or Ammachi.  We are ordinary, imperfect and quirky human beings and we are spiritually awake.  This is what enlightenment looks like in ordinary people and dare I say that this is probably what it will look like in YOU...

Organic Living

by Sandra Miniere, MEd
ATH Asst. Editor of Sacred Living

Perhaps the time has come when we can no longer go to doctors expecting them to have all of the answers to heal our physical problems, especially the diseases that occur as a result of aging and lifestyle choices...

Editor's Note from Sandra Miniere: As I reflected upon my atrial fibrillation health challenge that began a year ago, the ideal doctor checklist emerged. Cancer and irregular heartbeats forced me to use the best of conventional and integrative medicine. I share the brief version of my AFib experience with the hope that my story and the checklist will inspire you to become your own health advocate. Your quality of life and life itself may depend on it!

The Gaia hypothesis is not a simple assertion that could easily be proved or disproved. Instead it is a complex statement with multiple levels of meaning, like a work of art. At the simplest level, it asserts that this planet is characterized by the capacity for self-correction that characterizes living organisms, the maintenance of continuity by corrective variation. The composition of the atmosphere and the temperatures of the planet over time, for instances, are not accounted for by the laws of chemistry and physics alone, but apparently by processes of self-regulation within those laws. The Gaia hypothesis deepens the sense of the planet as developing, as having a history. Wiggling...

The reason the Ecospiritual movement emphasizes the integration of personal/spiritual growth and intellectual development derives from the way knowledge itself is understood within the new paradigm. The dominant worldview tends to imagine the human mind in terms of a disembodied rationality, passively receiving information and analyzing it to arrive at an objective representation of the world. The last hundred years of science, however, has revealed that the universe consists of an intricate web of interdependent relationships and processes...
