Editor's Note from Michelle Cordani: Simple yet full of health benefits! Did you know that Vitamin A as beta carotene comes from eating Orange veggies. Most people also do not know that it helps hormone issues especially Acne. They have immune benefits and are anti inflammatory. Andrea Beaman is amazing. She cured herself from Thyroid issues.

Kale is one of the best leafy green vegetables, considered a star amongst healthy-eaters. It is loaded with nutrients including potent phytonutrients from the Cruciferous vegetable family which includes broccoli, cabbage and bok choy. Studies have shown that two phytonutrients in these foods, the Indole-3-carbinols and the sulforaphanes help prevent heart disease and cancer, can act as anti-inflammatories and helps our bodies slow down the aging process...

I love eating out in Chinese restaurants, but I hate how weighed down (and for some reason still hungry?) I always feel afterwards.  This recipe provides all the taste of traditional Chinese food, without the unpleasant side effects...

A delicious gluten free recipe that is sure to warm you up this winter...

Editor's Note from Michelle Cordani: Leah is a passionate person and it shows even more through her recipes. Recipes can not only taste good but be healing. This one has antioxidants in it.

Editor’s Note from Susan Cabana: Perfect for any diet. A favorite on The Real Housewives of NYC, Bethenny Frankel made this dish every day while appearing on Martha Stewart's Apprentice for herself and her cast mates.

This recipe is one of my favorites.  It’s much like a ratatouille, but using chickpeas instead of the traditional eggplant and zucchini, and an original spice combination. The result is a dish with a complexity of flavors and the bonus of minimal preparation!

Editor's Note: I can't tell you how often I make this dish. I've even played with it and made it in a crock pot (slow cooker) overnight.

Editor's Note: As we transition from spring to summer there are all kinds of things popping up at the farmer's market that look delish. As I start to break out all of my summer recipes I think I will be adding this squash soup with basil to them.

Healing Recipes

Adapted by Andrea D’Amore,

I know what you are thinking... another veggie burger recipe?!?! Well this one struck me as something I hadn't tried before and I had to share it once I made them. This recipe has one of the most appealing textures of any food I've had in a while and a great hearty, nutty flavor to them. Almonds happen to be an excellent source of magnesium and calcium, bet even more by serving these patties on top of a bed of fresh spinach...

Yesterday I decided to play with my chocolate for breakfast smoothie. I think I shocked a few of my fans when I posted this photo on my fan page. But seriously? It’s a delicious way to go green. If you’re new to my chocolate for breakfast world, I’m a self-professed chocolate aficionado...

Editor's Note: I LOVE my breakfast smoothies and I'm totally going to have to add this one to my repertoire. How can you go wrong when you start your day with chocolate? But don't let the recipe fool you - it's super- nutritious too!

Healing Recipes

Editor’s Note by Sheila Fields: I have been thinking spring all through this long, dreary New York winter and what could be more spring like than fresh, organic asparagus! Zesty ginger and the spices add a little warmth to the recipe. Asparagus is an alkaline food...

Healing Recipes

The magical cauldron of hot soups, broths and stocks on a cold night – and chicken soup (or miso) to “cure what ails you” – is what most of us have in our minds when we think of soups. But when it is 90 degrees in the shade, a cold soup might be just the healing choice. The healing value of soup includes weight loss – statistics show that if you eat a bowl of soup at least once a day you are more likely to lose more weight than those who eat the same amount of calories but don’t eat soup – and detoxification, as a liquid, soup is already helping you flush waste from your body. It also helps replenish your body with essential minerals. With the fruits and vegetables available now at our farmers markets and in our gardens, why not try a few super cool soups?...
