From Sheila Fields: Polenta and parsley! I'm a big fan of polenta, so I can't wait to try this one! And parsley... well, parsley is more than a pretty garnish. It packs a healing punch with volatile oils that help neutralize carcinogens and antioxidants that combine with those pesky and highly reactive oxygen containing free radicals, preventing cellular damage...

This "salad" is one of our favorites to eat outside for lunch in the summer. I don't really think of it as a salad because the vegetables are sort of cooked by the orange juice and salt, plus the grilled tempeh and pita warm everything up. Also, I am going to do half wheat and half oat flour as well as add some ground up flax for some extra omegas...

Healing Recipes

by Andrea D’Amore

This recipe is something that I created from several different sources and a need to use some squash an apples before they would have to be thrown out! And like many of my experiments that involve the last things I have in the house before going shopping; it is quickly becoming my favorite breakfast food this fall and winter. Unlike many modern breakfast foods this one has no added sugar and is full of fiber...

Dandelions are not evil weeds to be conquered. These beautiful flowers are edible and have tremendous healing properties.

Editor's Note from Michelle Gregg: If you've only ever thought of dandelions as weeds to pull up - think again! Dandelion has SO MANY health benefits and can relieve so many physical ailments - and it provides a wonderful option for harvesting and eating your own food. The Dandelion Pesto recipe at the end is delicious - and beautiful. It's garnished with it's own bright, cheerful, and edible yellow flowers...

This is my newest obsession.  I absolutely love the creamy, sweet texture.  It is not as smooth as oat bran and fluffs up from all of the liquid I add...

I used to be an “instant oats” girl until about 2 years ago.  I never thought cooking on the stove top could possibly be worth it.  I most frequently bought the Quaker Instant Oats – Brown Sugar packets.  One day I decided to experiment with rolled oats and never looked back...
