Introducing Healing Recipes
It’s hard to pick a starting point when describing exactly what healing recipes and healing with food is all about. But, I think that this quote by Dr. Mark Hyman does a fabulous job of summing it up: “The fork is the most powerful tool you have to change your health and the health of the planet; food is the most powerful medicine to heal chronic illness.”
Making the decision to eat whole, natural foods full of vitamins and minerals, and consuming herbs with healing powers, disease fighting phytochemicals and antioxidants, can and will change your life by making you healthier and more vital. You will be less likely to succumb to acute illness, less likely to suffer from chronic disease, and aging will be a far less painful and more natural process than it is for those who make poor dietary choices. Cultures all around the world are aware of the truth that food has the power to heal us.
Ancient wisdom says “let food be thy medicine” because it’s entirely possible. Following wholesome eating practices will prevent illness. And diets specialized for certain diseases have the ability to heal and rejuvenate people from chronic illness like nothing else can and in many cases, eliminate the need for pharmaceutical medications. By making use of a simple healing recipe, you can decrease the risks of numerous illnesses that plague the world today.
What’s even more incredible is that by making the right dietary choices we not only give our bodies the building blocks they need to be healthy and to heal from illness or disease, but we can heal the world around us with the same foods. By embarking on a lifestyle that encompasses a wholesome, healing diet you will inevitably eat less meat and more plants, which greatly reduces your carbon footprint on the Earth. Also, healing foods are whole foods. They are less processed and therefore use less energy on their journey to your plate. And a meal from a healing recipe typically has less packaging, which is just as healthy for our environment as it is for our bodies. It’s no coincidence that foods with the power to heal include animals raised responsibly on small farms, and vegetables found locally and in season because they have been on the vine longer. So by seeking out these foods to heal your body, you are also contributing to a healthier community and economy.
In summary, what you will find on our healing recipes page will be recipes and food suggestions designed to promote health and wellness; for you and by consequence the world around you.
