Releasing muscles, pain, and tension isn't always about massaging them or releasing trigger points or using heavy deep tissue techniques.  Massage therapists also use something called Muscle Energy Techniques. I believe that most orthopedic massage therapists or medical massage therapists use "muscle energy techniques" these days. ..

 

 

Editor´s Note: Massage therapy is not all about rubbing muscles these days. Most of us are trained in Muscle Energy Techniques. These techniques relax muscles, release pain, resolve trigger points, and increase range of motion through therapeutic stretching.
