Technology and Dreams

I would like to ask if anyone is aware of research and/or studies done on what the bombardment of technology has done to people's dreams (or the lack thereof). I have students in my classes who never remove their ear buds due to listening to music, etc. I'm just wondering if anyone anywhere is teaching young people the importance of silence and how much that allows you to "hear." I can say that I have definitely seen an increase in technology in my own dreams, and certainly over time we have seen the "current technologies" (phones, cars, etc.) creep into the dreamscape.
