Throw out the retrograde rulebook, seize the creative moment, and do your best to get comfortable with the idea of moving free-form through the routines of daily life. This week, we’re all making it up as we go along. And while the co-creative power of every moment always determines reality, the knowledge of that power usually rides beneath the surface of normal consciousness and regular routines...

Retrograde periods are times for reflection and heightened inner awareness. Since Mercury symbolizes communication, they way we learn, our siblings, and our neighborhood, this period can yield great insights in related areas of your life. Mercury retrograde lasts about three weeks and occurs three to four times per year; the last one took place November 23 – December 13, 2011...

The Virgo Full Moon calls on us to see both the differences and the similarities. While we may be drawn to classify and criticize, remembering that everything is connected—even if we can’t immediately perceive it—can yield a greater acceptance of self and others. This Full Moon provides an opportune time to heal imbalances in our physical bodies through meditation, prayer, dreamwork, and our creative imagination...

It’s a wacky week, here on Planet Earth, with so many ups and downs and back-and-forths that simply surviving the multidimensional psychic flux requires surrendering any notion of “normal.” The planets are challenging the status quo, and as a result, many situations as well as states of mind regularly taken for granted simply evaporate at the touch (a condition that continues for the next several weeks). The good news is that life is exciting. But it’s also exhausting, especially as the constantly changing terrain makes it feel as if nothing is “for sure...”

Aries begins at the vernal equinox. This is when the Sun commits to a new course (“cardinal”) of making the days longer than the nights. In Taurus, the second phase, it must remain fixed in this course. In Gemini, the third phase, it must do two things (“dual”): complete the current course and prepare to take a new one...

Editor's Note from Pat Lantz: This is part three of a wonderful four part series in which Astrologer Vic Di Cara reconciles the two zodiacs, sharing with his readers some forgotten knowledge that will give all astrologers, both Eastern and Western, much to ponder about both the "sidereal zodiac" and the "tropical zodiac". Read Part I and Part II.

Start your backups, now. And don’t procrastinate. On March 12, Mercury begins its first retrograde phase of 2012, a phase that lasts until April 4 and a phase that runs concurrently with the continuing Mars Retrograde (which we already know doesn’t end until ten days later, on April 14). Because Mercury and Mars drive the mechanics of daily life, we tend to feel the effect of their simultaneous retrogrades quite keenly – so keenly, that non-believers often convert into astrological zealots...

February's Pisces new Moon occurs on February 21 in the U.S. and February 22 in Australia. This new Moon is a powerfully Piscean one as it is conjunct (together with) Neptune, Pallas Athena and Chiron, with Mercury leading the charge further into Pisces. Talk about having to get one's story right! This new Moon holds so much potential for exploring the story that we tell ourselves (I see Chiron very much as that - the stories we tell ourselves)...

Those who feel that the sidereal starting point of the zodiac is original say that ancient peoples looked up at the stars in the sky, drew pictures up there by stringing together the patterns, and assigned mythology and meaning to the divisions created by those connections. They say that this mythologically informed “connect‐the‐dots” is the origin of astrology and of all the meaning of the twelve zodiac signs...

Signs are everywhere this week, and they aren’t all astrological. A wide range of rich symbols are likely to materialize out of the blue, in all sorts of settings, and because their presence feels synchronistic, it would be hard not to think of them as messages from a living universe. Pay attention to who or what crosses your path...

The Pisces New Moon inspires us to connect in with the well of compassion that resides within each of us. As we dive into our empathetic hearts, it’s important to remember that giving of ourselves doesn’t need to equal giving away of ourselves. It’s one thing to hold space for another and desire to foster their enhanced joy, and another to let go of our needs and sacrifice ourselves in that pursuit...

Oh poor, sweet Pisces. So sensitive. So helpless. So not cut out for this cruel, cold world.

Yeah, right. Don’t buy into that. These people are not fundamentally weak. Believe me, I’ve been around this sign my whole life (I’ve got a Pisces mother, daughter and dog) and they are not helpless, shrinking violets. Quite the contrary...

The Astrology of the Near Death Experience ~ Part 1

by Kari Noren-Hoshal

Ask anyone born between 1960 and early 1965 (when Chiron in Pisces opposed Pluto in Virgo) whether they have had a brush with death, or know someone who has, and the answer will be a resounding affirmative. It was during a session with a Cartier Replica Watches student of mine that nearly did not live to see her 23rd birthday, that I began my research on the near death experience...
