February's Pisces new Moon occurs on February 21 in the U.S. and February 22 in Australia. This new Moon is a powerfully Piscean one as it is conjunct (together with) Neptune, Pallas Athena and Chiron, with Mercury leading the charge further into Pisces. Talk about having to get one's story right! This new Moon holds so much potential for exploring the story that we tell ourselves (I see Chiron very much as that - the stories we tell ourselves)...

Those who feel that the sidereal starting point of the zodiac is original say that ancient peoples looked up at the stars in the sky, drew pictures up there by stringing together the patterns, and assigned mythology and meaning to the divisions created by those connections. They say that this mythologically informed “connect‐the‐dots” is the origin of astrology and of all the meaning of the twelve zodiac signs...

Editor's Note from Pat Lantz: This is part two of a wonderful four part series in which Astrologer Vic Di Cara reconciles the two zodiacs, sharing with his readers some forgotten knowledge that will give all astrologers, both Eastern and Western, much to ponder about both the "sidereal zodiac" and the "tropical zodiac".  Click here for Part I.

Signs are everywhere this week, and they aren’t all astrological. A wide range of rich symbols are likely to materialize out of the blue, in all sorts of settings, and because their presence feels synchronistic, it would be hard not to think of them as messages from a living universe. Pay attention to who or what crosses your path...

The Pisces New Moon inspires us to connect in with the well of compassion that resides within each of us. As we dive into our empathetic hearts, it’s important to remember that giving of ourselves doesn’t need to equal giving away of ourselves. It’s one thing to hold space for another and desire to foster their enhanced joy, and another to let go of our needs and sacrifice ourselves in that pursuit...

Oh poor, sweet Pisces. So sensitive. So helpless. So not cut out for this cruel, cold world.

Yeah, right. Don’t buy into that. These people are not fundamentally weak. Believe me, I’ve been around this sign my whole life (I’ve got a Pisces mother, daughter and dog) and they are not helpless, shrinking violets. Quite the contrary...

The universe is, in an obvious and literal sense, our mother. We exist in her womb and are made from her substances. The stars and planets of the heavens are part of our mother’s visible body. The way the planets and stars move is her "body language" revealing what how the universe will move to care for the upbringing of us, her children...

Don’t be surprised if your psychic cilia quiver with intensity this week – all the extra features of your personal intuitive antennae are likely to be working overtime in an effort to cope with a highly sensitive environment. Celestial interactions are stirring deep pools of psyche, and because those pools contain imprints from previous experiences, confusing memory for reality is probable. But it’s not just projection that dominates perception...

Editor's Note from Pat Lantz: Using Chelsea Clinton's chart for the time of the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Kepler faculty member Carol Tebbs gives a demonstration on the use of directions, progressions, transits and eclipses to gain insight into a stressful period in life.

Passions run deep this week, and hearts long for the thrill of amorous adventures – an astral current befitting the days and nights leading up to the holiday of love. And because Uranus skews many of those feelings toward the eclectic, it would be wise to expect unconventional and imaginative ways of saying, “I love you.” But these fervent feelings are not limited solely to romantic longings. Those among us who are not inclined toward sending flowers or chocolates on Valentine’s Day, as well as those not pining for a partner or tormented by lost or unrequited love, could experience this passionate stream as creative surges...

Although you are probably in a situation of definite structure and form, you may find that it needs to be changed from the normal routine and infused with unusual and unorthodox possibilities. Although they can be great fun, the problem with ‘Houseboat Parties’ is the inability to leave when you please. When you’re socializing, seeing a crowd of friendly faces is comforting when you have no choice but to stay...

During a Leo Full Moon, issues involving individuals and their relationship to the collective assume center stage. One of the questions that this Full Moon poses is how we can authentically be ourselves while at the same time being part of and contributing to something larger than our individual selves...

The Astrology of the Near Death Experience ~ Part 1

by Kari Noren-Hoshal

Ask anyone born between 1960 and early 1965 (when Chiron in Pisces opposed Pluto in Virgo) whether they have had a brush with death, or know someone who has, and the answer will be a resounding affirmative. It was during a session with a Cartier Replica Watches student of mine that nearly did not live to see her 23rd birthday, that I began my research on the near death experience...
