TAROT

What is Tarot? If all you owned was a deck of Tarot cards, with proper study & meditation you could unlock the secrets of the universe. The cards are a pictorial text-book of ancient symbolism, useful for self-development as well as for divination. About Tarot Card Readings - Do you own a deck of tarot cards? Editor's Note from Michael Santangelo: Here's an interesting way to give a long-term forecast with Tarot. Part 2 is coming soon.

Tarot

by Elinor Greenberg, PhD, CGP, CPTR

If my client expresses an interest, I go on to calculate his or her Birth Cards by adding the month, day, century and year of their birth together. In most cases the total can then be reduced to only two major arcana numbers which then become the Birth Cards...

Editor's Note from Lynda Martin: This article is the second in a four-part series on how a highly credentialed psychotherapist uses Tarot in her therapy. See Part 1 here. Part 2 shows how to calculate and use two (sometimes three) birth cards to identify the focus of your lifelong learning.

Editor's Note from Michael Santangelo: This one is just for fun, and it is definitely NOT how I would recommend doing a Tarot reading. With tongue firmly in cheek, I remain, your faithful co-editor.

There are always skeptics on any subject, and Tarot is no exception.  Recently, when Sandy Anastasi, a renowned tarot reader and pyschic, was invited to appear on "The View"  it was Whoppi Goldberg, who was the obvious skeptic about the Tarot as a tool for revealing truth.  There was a lot of buzz about the reading in Tarot community with complaints about sterotyping. And many Tarot students and practioners felt the high profile program did more harm than good. Watch the video and give us your opinion...

ATH Co-Editor of Tarot

Let’s continue on our journey through the planets associated with the chakras.

The second (or sacral) chakra is located an inch or two below the navel, and its planet is Mars.

Editor's Note from Michael Santangelo: This article covers a Tarot association with the Second Chakra. It is another in my "Planetary Forces" series. Read Part 1: Planetary Forces - Saturn.

Editor's Note from Michael Santangelo: A nice explanation of some Jungian principles as they relate to the Minor Arcana.

Tarot

by Mary K. Greer

* People love to hear about themselves. They crave attention. This should give you confidence.

 * Determine where a person is coming from and how best to communicate with them by checking their astrology, numerology or birth cards, or by drawing a card before the reading...

Editor´s Note from Lynda Martin: This is the 4th and last part of most excellent advice for all of us from 60 experienced tarot readers! Part 1 is a guide on how to learn, Part 2 offers help sorting through the thousands of decks. Part 3 was great insight for those who suffer doubt when starting readings.

by Michael Santangelo, ND, PhD, LMT,
ATH Co-Editor of Tarot

I thought I’d go through the planets associated with each of the chakras. This is important not only from the perspectives of personal development and astrology, but also so you don’t look like a fool at your next esoteric cocktail party when the topic comes up...

Editor's Note from Michael Santangelo: This is part one of a series of articles I have written regarding planetary forces in the Major Arcana.

Tarot

by Gaylle and Wendy
The 3 of Swords is an ominous looking card.  Regardless of the position, the first reaction I usually get when this card comes up is pain, sorrow and betrayal...

Editor's Note fom Michael Santangelo: The Minor Arcana tend to get short shrift in the Tarot world, but they are important. Here's an example, using the "dreaded" 3 of Swords.
