More about Sanora Bartels, MA
From Sanora:I started out on a corporate path and worked for many years as a legal secretary and then as an Office Manager for a firm in downtown Los Angeles.
Unhappy with the direction my life was taking, I quit my job and went back to school. While pursuing my Masters degree at the University of Southern California, I earned a living as a line producer and production coordinator on various documentary, film and tv projects.
In 2004, I teamed up with Nicole Criona and together we created LAwritersgroup.com. We began teaching writing workshops out of our homes. In 2006, I graduated from USC with my Masters in Professional Writing.
In early 2007, I was feeling unfocused, as though I was getting closer to my calling, but still wanting to help others in a more meaningful way. I stumbled onto Vedic Meditation. To say it impacted my life would be an understatement.
Now, more than 4 years later, having been to India, then returning for a 12-week intense Vedic Meditation course in Flagstaff, Arizona (I didn’t see my husband for more than four months!), I am now a certified Vedic Meditation teacher.
I still run writing workshops and mentor individual writers through LAwritersgroup.com. As a result of my Vedic studies, I have written articles based on ideas of Advaita (non-dualism) and more than 20 of my articles have been published.
My real love is teaching Vedic Meditation. There is nothing like the face of a new meditator – such peace. My meditation students experience immediate relief and clarity. I am so happy to be a part of their spiritual evolution and healing. I also run weekly Group Meditations & Knowledge Meetings. I find amazing joy answering questions about meditation practice and discussing Advaita.
