Three Uncommon Truths About God

Editor's Note from
Tina Rayner: With the dawn of the auspicious 2012, the time to Rise To Shine is now! We can only do this if we acknowledge and shine the fullness of the light that we are! However, many people deny the truth of the light that they are and struggle because they do. As the brightest Light of All is God, the key to shining our lights is to understand the truth about who God is and thus, who we are.

There are countless names for, “God” (Buddha, Atman, Allah, or any of the other terms for, “God” out there) and countless definitions of what, “God” is. Despite these differences, it seems that much of the world does agree that, “God” is something, or someone that is separate from humanity and that nothing of God exists within humans. To teach this though, is like teaching that when a baby is born, nothing of the mother, or of the father exists in that baby. This example doesn’t make sense, yet saying we are a part of God would most likely be considered blasphemous by many religions; furthermore, if a church-goer were to say this, an immediate fear of getting hit by lightening would ensue-that and possibly being asked to leave the church.

Inexplicably, churches contradict themselves by also teaching that God is omni-present, or everywhere. How can, “everywhere” exclude humans? More confusingly, these churches also talk about the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit. As Eckhart Tolle talks about on p.71 of, “A New Earth”, “Some Christian mystics have called it the Christ within; Buddhists call it your Buddha nature; for Hindus, it is Atman, the indwelling God.” The Bible teaches, “Be still and know that I am God” in Psa.46:10. It’s time to not just face the lightening, but to take ownership for it hitting us. Truth number one about God is: God is all. Separation is a man-made invention. God is just as much, “Creator” as, “Creation” and as part of God’s creation, humans are God too. I am god (with a small, “g” to denote the difference between being, “God” and a god) and you are too. The challenge though is that many people as god DO believe in separation, which is why we have not been accepting that we are god, along with a host of other consequences.

I still feel nervous saying, “I am god” in public because I used to strongly believe it was blasphemy. Yet, many of us have no nervousness in being, “lowly.” We easily point out what’s, ‘wrong’ with us, or observe how we’re not doing enough, being enough, making enough, or living enough and on top of that, we look for someone, or something to blame as the reason(s) why. The second truth about God is: The All experiences Itself naturally through Creation. To further define, “naturally”, the, “I Am Discourses”, Discourse 1, by Saint Germain) teach, “Life, in all Its Activities everywhere manifest, is God in Action” and, “the natural tendency of life is Love, Peace, Beauty, Harmony, and Opulence.” So, God experiences Itself as the natural tendency of God in action through creating Love, Peace, Beauty, Harmony and Opulence. The challenge for we as god though is that we often choose to experience ourselves unnaturally through our creation. As the, “I Am Discourses” teach in Discourse 1, one of the most powerful names for God is, “I Am.” Thus, it is important that we know that one of the most powerful manifesting statements we as God can make is anything that follows the words, “I am.” Are we aware of what we are saying after every, “I am” statement? Are we as god following the natural tendency of life, or are we going against what is natural and easy? Are we saying and thus creating ourselves and our creation as, “I am rejected”, “I am discontent”, “I am ugly”, “I am attacked”, “I am broke”, or are we saying and THUS creating, “I am Love”, “I am Peace”, “I am Beauty”, “I am Harmony”, or “I am Opulence”? If we are not aware of what we are saying, we are not aware of the creation we are indeed creating. Discourse 1 of the, “I Am Discourses” also say’s, “…for every time you say ‘I AM not,’ ‘I cannot,’ ‘I have not,’ you are, whether knowingly or unknowingly, throttling that ‘Great Presence’ within you…when you make a declaration using the words ‘I AM not,’ you set in motion Mighty, Limitless Energy that continues to act, unless it is recalled and the imperfection consumed and transmuted.”

Everything I’ve said here is my truth based on it resonating with the god that I am in my creation, but as I’ve said, it hasn’t always been my truth. Indeed, my previous, “truth” stemmed from fear, which is why the last truth about God is: God is Truth and Truth is Love. All that is not of love is born of fear and that which is born of fear cannot be truth. The ongoing challenge for many as god is that our, “truth” is often not born from love, but from fear. A woman wrote to me last week to tell me, “Love does not exist.” This is her “truth”, but it is born from all of the fear she has of being hurt by fear (versus love) again.

By creating man-made rules for why we can’t be god, we can rule ourselves out of taking full responsibility for every aspect of the lives we alone are creating and look instead to blame; we can rule out being responsible for hurting ourselves, others, the planet and the universe without any qualms because we believe in separation and lastly, we can rule this all to be acceptable behavior for after all, we can rule that, “We are ONLY human.” On the other hand, if our truth is to accept that we are god, we know that we are god creating every aspect of our lives and this creation is no one else’s responsibility so we stop giving our power away to others and things; it also crucially means that we know there is no separation: when we as god create, we create knowing that we are linked to everyone, everything and every place within creation and that whatever we think, say, or do, is thought, said or done to every part of creation INCLUDING ourselves!

By better understanding whom God is, we can choose to follow in God’s footsteps by then living whom we as god are. Denying whom we as god are is unnatural and it can lead to creating anything BUT Love, Peace, Beauty, Harmony and Opulence for others, the planet, the universe and us. “A Return To Love” by Marianne Williamson states, “We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.” The time to Rise To Shine is now!
