Spiritual Relationships and Spirit Babies
by Christine Nightingale, BA, RM, CH

All relationships are spiritual!

You may have heard the expression that someone can enter our life for a reason, or a season, or a lifetime. True on all counts. The secretary who talked her boss into hiring the scared young immigrant…became his wife, and they are one of the happiest couples I know. My friend’s son had always wanted to go to the Czech republic for some unknown reason, and when he got to a particular small village, he decided to stay…and met his future wife. Why? Because they just knew...their soul mates were calling them.

You may also have heard, ”You can pick your friends, but not your family." Ah, now that is completely wrong!

In my work with Spirit Babies, every one of them picked their parents, and in many cases their siblings too. The members of your biological family-at least some of them-are part of your soul family, which may comprise 40-60 people. If you live long enough, you will meet many or most of your soul family.

These are people with whom you have chosen to incarnate, over and over in many different types of relationships, as siblings, parent-child, lovers, friends, teacher-student. The roles change as both parties find different ways to express their love for each other, and also work out the issues, and develop the character traits, which they have chosen to work on in their between-life contracts on the other side.

A major problem with western culture is the over-riding concern with looking for one romantic partner who will be the be-all and end-all of life. This simply does not work for many people, if not most. We are meant to experience love on many levels, in many ways. We need to accept that some of these relationships may have nothing at all to do with romance, and many of them may not last for long. So it is important to live in the now, since it really is the only place we can live.

I have an unusual ability to remember and ”tune in to” past lives. It started as a toddler when I had dreams of a previous life shared with my younger sister. Usually the first time I looked in someone’s eyes I could tell if they were part of my soul family, and if they were, the details would come back to me.

My older brother and my baby brother were in other relationships with me in a past life, one as a partner, one as our child. We had unfinished business because two of those lives ended very early and tragically, due to the racism of the culture we were living in. So we have had our whole lives to love each other as siblings with no issues.

My lifelong friend, who I met on the first day of university, had shared lifetimes with me in which we were husband and wife, and also brother and sister.

My oldest son is the return of my brother who died in infancy. I knew my second son in a medieval lifetime in Portugal. My daughter was both mother and daughter to me in other lifetimes.

How can this sort of knowledge help?

Well, it’s helpful to understand that we choose our life tasks, and the family which will help us develop the character traits we want. Some  souls may even choose the hardship of unloving or immature parents, or a disability.

The energy of someone in your soul family will draw you to them, even across centuries and continents.

But it is not always perceived as a positive experience!

In our time of massive spiritual changes, souls may choose to deliberately have the one they love be in a body of the same gender, or a different religion, or a different nationality. So many versions of the Romeo and Juliet story abound in every culture because, quite simply, the urge to be with the beloved is strong enough to risk death. The barriers to love, which are random and artificial divisions between “us” and” them”, are falling now. This is hugely important in the coming together of humanity as one.

My older son has a Jewish girlfriend; when I was in love with Jewish boy in university, both of our families disapproved, so it ended. When I was a teenager my father disapproved of the black boy with whom I sang duets; my daughter has a black boyfriend and they are expecting a child. Monumental changes in just one generation.

Over and over throughout history lovers on the other side, when planning their life tasks, have chosen to be born to different social classes, races, religions, countries. They have chosen to create barriers in order to be part of the solution-and beat those walls down. Now in the city of Toronto, near where I live, about 200 ethnic groups are represented, and mixed couples of all sorts are the norm rather than the exception.

What are some other goals of spiritual relationships?

A friendship serves to let each member of the pair be heard, understood and loved. A friendship group, based on everything from a school class, to an athletic team, to a church choir, serves to create a sense of community. A parent-child relationship begins, ideally, as a mentoring relationship which encourages the young person to fulfill their potential and complete their life task, but it gradually changes to a friendship between equals, and there may even be role reversal at the end of the parent’s life.

And in working with Spirit Babies I have often found that the children have something important to teach their parents. Until the message is understood, the Spirit Babies delay their coming in. A spirit baby who had been a native shaman in North American had this to say:

It is not necessarily “your” medicine men you need help from-not the allopathic healers, that is, who focus on drug and surgery. Your own medicine men are the naturopathic healers…who use everything but drugs and surgery...and have just as extensive a training, but in methods  which would be more familiar to me, mind-body medicine, nutrition,  natural herbs and remedies. Western “doctors “for the most part do not understand this sort of medicine. True medicine men see the human body/mind/spirit as one, and see the woman’s body as uniquely ready to provide a home for the growing baby when she is at peace.

Thank you for asking for clarification.

Although in my tribe we had woman healers also, who specifically helped the women with pregnancy and birth, I also knew of these things.

So for example, take wild red raspberry leaf tea for fertility and to help the womb. Also, red clover flowers strengthen the womb and can be made into a tea for daily use. You can also combine raspberry leaves and clover blossoms if you like. Soaking the tea for four hours (making an infusion with one ounce of red clover blossoms and a teaspoon of peppermint if you like) is more effective than drinking it hot, but either will help strengthen your womb.

Have enough calcium (wild salmon), magnesium, (parsley, dulse, carrot tops, dandelion greens) and vitamin E(from wheat germ oil, for both mother and father). And carotene (carrots-we used to use wild carrots)

I guess some people might be startled to get such advice from their own future child! But remember, your child may be as old a spirit as you, or older. Some children come to teach their parents (and ALL children help their parents learn the true nature of adulthood!)

About the Author

I have now worked with over a hundred couples, helping them communicate with their miscarried or terminated or not yet conceived babies. It is extremely rare for a woman who wants a baby to NOT have a Spirit Baby in her aura, but when that has happened she has gotten a full and satisfactory explanation from her guide or angel.  It is gratifying every time I receive an email message or baby pictures. (Most of my clients are by email. Time and space have no meaning in the spiritual dimension).

Christine's first pregnancy led to a miscarriage that directly led to helping others with the same experience. Her older son and wife suffered infertility for four years which further increased her interest in helping families with this situation.
